The LA Weight Loss Program started with brick and mortar buildings where dieters would meet to receive and provide support, but the program has transitioned to an online weight loss program as of 2010. The goal is the same, however, and that is to help you shed excess pounds and reach a healthy weight. In addition to the LA Weight Loss juices and bars, you'll also eat plenty of fresh foods you can prepare yourself.
Breakfast
LA Weight Loss views breakfast as the most important meal of the day, and you have numerous options to choose from, most of which are quick and easy to prepare. Roll scrambled egg substitute, green bell peppers, scallions, tomatoes and low-fat cheese inside a whole-wheat tortilla to make a nutritious breakfast burrito or use egg substitute to make an omelet. Dip whole-wheat bread in whisked egg substitute to make LA Weight Loss-approved french toast. Serve the toast topped with fresh fruit such as peaches or strawberries. Whole-grain cereal, such as oatmeal, is also permitted.
Lunch
Many varieties of soup are permitted on the LA Weight Loss Diet, according to the official website. Broth-based soups, such as chicken noodle or vegetable, usually contain less fat than creamy soups. You can, however, include creamy soups, such as cream of asparagus, into your diet plan if you use skim milk to prepare them instead of heavy cream. Lean beef burgers are another LA Weight Loss-approved lunch food. Sandwiches made with lean meats and whole-wheat bread also fit into the diet plan, but stick to roasted chicken or turkey, as high-sodium deli meats, such as ham, aren't allowed.
Dinner
Grilled chicken, turkey, beef and pork are allowed on the LA Weight Loss Diet, which makes whipping up a nutritious dinner fairly easy. Fish, such as salmon or cod, as well as fresh crustaceans, such as shrimp, crab and lobster, can be included on the diet, too. Serve grilled meats and seafood with steamed vegetables and whole grains, such as couscous or quinoa, to create a balanced evening meal. Pizza made with lean meat, in place of sausage or pepperoni, and low-fat cheese is another LA Weight Loss-approved dinner.
Snacks, Desserts and Extras
Fresh fruits and vegetables are low-calorie and highly nutritious snacks that will help you reach your daily goals in terms of how much you need to eat from each food group. Fresh fruit makes a good dessert, too. Top fresh fruit with low-fat Greek yogurt and honey or combine chopped fruit with walnuts and fresh mint to make a fruit salad. Fruit smoothies and shakes made with skim milk are acceptable snacks and desserts, too. Stay away from foods with added sugar, such as packaged baked goods, and large amounts of salt and fat, such as potato chips, because these aren't approved on the LA Weight Loss Diet.
